In this role you will provide executive leadership, vision and oversight of the Acentrus Specialty TM and lead strategic development, implementation, and management of the program. You will advise health system clients on strategies to optimize their programs and gain access to specialty medications and payer networks. You will also be a liaison to key internal teams that support member organizations and the advancement of pharmacy programs.


  • Provides the strategic leadership for the Acentrus to ensure that it meets the needs of our clients, including but not limited to client networking groups, access to limited distribution drugs, and payers.
  • Builds and expands the specialty product contracts and services agreement portfolio through targeted manufacturer relations.
  • Provides direct oversight of industry analytics (RWD/RWE insights) optimization and growth with stakeholders.
  • Manages profit & loss for the Acentrus business.
  • Leads the engagement and development of the Acentrus team.
  • Manages performance measures and provides direction and recommendations to the Apexus senior leadership regarding overall return on investment related to the Acentrus program.
  • Partners with channel partners and preferred vendors to support members and optimize the specialty pharmacy program.
  • Leads the advancement of the Therapeutic Specific Outcomes Coalition (TSOC) demonstrating improved patient outcomes and lower cost of care resulting in improved payer access for health system clients.
  • Serves as a liaison/subject matter expert (SME) to internal departments and consultants in development and maintenance of specialty model, data collection, and reporting to stakeholders.
  • Sets and monitors team goals and metrics.
  • Presents publicly on specialty pharmacy at national, regional, and local conferences and events.



  •  Relevant degree preferred. Master’s degree desired.
  • 15 or more year’s relevant experience with a deep technical expertise with specialty pharmacy programs.
  • Strong understanding of current and emerging trends in specialty pharmacy practices and policies.
  • Recognized leader in specialty pharmacy practice and the use of data and collaboration to improve all aspects of patient care and drug therapy.
  • Familiarity with health system specialty pharmacies, data channel partners, life science company data requirements and regulatory agencies.
  • Functional experience in strategic planning, management consulting, or healthcare operations.
  • Capable of building productive relationships with team members and stakeholders across the organization.
  • Comfortable leading in an organization that pivots quickly and has demonstrated a history of making rapid, informed decisions with consistent, successful results.
  • Willingness to travel.
